Expedition-Ready: Essential Training for Multi-Day Sea Kayaking trips.

ISKGA EXPEDITION SKILLS Course

Our 3-Day ISKGA (International Sea Kayak Guide Alliance) Expedition Skills Course is an official module within the ISKGA Coastal Guide Training Framework.

This course is designed for paddlers seeking to build essential outdoor and expedition skills required for multi-day sea kayaking trips. Whether you’re working towards your ISKGA Coastal Guide certification or enhancing your personal expedition abilities, this course provides crucial skills in both land-based and kayak-specific contexts.

Set in the stunning Lofoten Islands—home to dramatic coastlines, beautiful beaches, and remote wilderness—this course offers a unique environment to develop and test your skills in real-world conditions.

You’ll learn how to plan and prepare for kayak expeditions with a focus on safety and efficiency. Key skills include developing emergency action plans, campsite selection, shelter setup, bushcraft, fire lighting, cooking, food gathering and water sourcing and treatment. For the on-water component, we’ll cover organizing and packing personal and group equipment, environmental awareness, and minimizing impact on wildlife.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to plan and execute safe and effective sea kayaking expeditions in challenging coastal environments.
