KAYAK Rockhopping course
Join us for an exciting 2-day kayak rock hopping or rock gardening course, where we’ll dive into the fundamentals of navigating dynamic rocky environments safely. Designed for advanced paddlers, this course will help you develop essential skills for maneuvering through rock gardens, improving control and confidence in challenging coastal conditions.
We’ll begin with a briefing on safety, equipment, and techniques specific to rock hopping. From there, we’ll progressively work on key skills, including precise turning, effective bracing, timings and surfing through tighter spaces. You’ll also learn advanced rescue techniques tailored to rocky environments, ensuring you’re prepared for the challenges of paddling in close proximity to rocks and cliffs.
Throughout the course, we’ll explore dynamic coastal areas, practicing in real conditions to build your skills and confidence in a supportive and safe environment. Whether you’re looking to take on more adventurous expeditions or simply want to experience the thrill of rock hopping, this course is the perfect place to start!

Required
Teknikkurs Hav (3* sea kayak course) or similar, contact us for more info. For this course, it’s an advantage but not a requirement if you have taken our basic kayak surfing course and already know how to perform an Eskimo roll.

Accommodation
If you wish to overnight next to our kayak school, you can book your stay with our partner Ramberg Resort.
Location
Our Basecamp and meeting point are located at the beach in front of Ramberg Resort. You can park in the public parking lot just past the resort, next to the school.

Weather conditions
We operate our tours and courses in a range of weather conditions, including rain and less-than-ideal weather. However, if wind or severe weather poses a safety risk, we will cancel the activity and provide a full refund.
