KAYAK SURF COURSE BASICS

Join us for an exciting 2-day basic kayak surfing course, designed to develop essential skills and knowledge for paddling in gentle surf conditions.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced paddlers, this course will help you build confidence and master the fundamentals of surfing a sea kayak in a safe, progressive setting. You’ll be well-prepared for future expeditions that require launching and landing on beaches in surf conditions for overnight trips.

We’ll start with a briefing on surf safety, etiquette, equipment, and techniques. Then, we’ll progressively develop our paddling skills, focusing on bracing, staying in position and safely entering and exiting the different surf zones. Once you have a solid understanding of the basics, we’ll practice catching waves, and turning, all aimed at building your confidence in navigating surf conditions within a safe and supportive environment.
