Winter in Lofoten offers a truly unique kayaking experience, with peaceful waters, dramatic light, and the possibility of spotting wildlife in a serene, snow-covered landscape. Launching from our basecamp on the beach in Ramberg, this is an unforgettable adventure for nature lovers.

This tour is suitable for beginners kayakers. You’ll paddle through sheltered bays and along the rugged coastline, exploring beaches and rocky islands, all while surrounded by Lofoten’s breathtaking winter scenery. If lucky, you may even have the rare experience of paddling through thin layers of ice, breaking through with your kayak—a truly unique experience. Double sea kayaks ensure a stable and comfortable experience, with single kayaks available upon request, subject to skill level and approval.

Our knowledgeable guides will provide basic kayaking instruction and safety tips for paddling in winter conditions. Along the way, they’ll share stories about the local wildlife, the region’s history, and the unique Arctic landscape, ensuring a fun and informative experience.

Location

Our Basecamp and meeting point are located at the beach in front of Ramberg Resort. You can park in the public parking lot just past the resort, next to the school.

Weather conditions

We operate our tours and courses in a range of weather conditions, including rain and less-than-ideal weather. However, if wind or severe weather poses a safety risk, we will cancel the activity and provide a full refund.
